Talk, love, and talk some more

This week, we’re taking a look at ten things kids want from Mom. We’re looking at two a day.* Today’s first thing: eat dinner together. Kids like it. But, while you’re eating, kids want you to talk about weekend plans or family vacations. These are moments of investing in our kids’ lives. Then, after you’ve talked and loved on them, talk again. The next thing kids want from Mom is a nighttime talk to one of your kids “about anything: love, school, family” or whatever is on your mind. We all sometimes fail to openly talk about the Gospel, so this would be a good time. Use these moments to talk about church activities, understanding recent Sunday school Bible verses, and asking questions to be sure they get it. *This Parent Minute series is based in part on “The Top 10 Things Children Really Want Their Parents To Do With Them” by Erin Kurt, LifeHack.org
