Our Ending, God's Beginning
God's ways are not those of men. That which He blesses will always be because He is the beginning and realization of it. The man who would truly seek to know and serve God, desirous of His blessings, is that one who is willing to forego his own ways and thoughts to embrace those of God. God's way is Christ. He is life's power and strength for the one who surrenders to Him, trusting Him fully.
Stirred Up To Seek God
It is not enough to know about God...one must know Him, and increasingly so. Indeed, this is the greatest pursuit that God has given to man, that he should seek God, and find Him. What does it mean to stir oneself to seek God? Is it not that one should set himself, and resolve to seek the everlasting God with the certainty of finding Him? This can be done with great, life-changing success, if one seeks Him according to the truth, trusting in the Spirit of God for the strength to pursue Christ.
The Watchman's Weapons
God has provided the believer with spiritual weapons that He declares to be, "...mighty through God to the tearing down of strongholds." However, weapons are useless unless they are taken and used. For this to be so, the soldier or watchman must understood what the weapon is. Then he must trust in his Captain for the skill and strength to wield that weapon well.
The Certainty Of Being Led
Is it possible to know the leading of God in the life? His word tells us that he will instruct and teach us in the way we should go, and that He will lead us by His Spirit. If we have difficulty in believing this, then our vision of God is too small, having been diminished by our vision of man, and his capacities. Over and over in Scripture, God declares that He alone is God, Creator, and Redeemer. It is a very little thing for Him to lead His sheep.
The Bedrock Of Faith
The foundation for faith is the faithfulness of God. The means by which we prove that this is the true foundation is by trusting in God according to His everlasting word. Every word will have its purpose accomplished in the heart and life. The question then becomes: "Can we trust God fully?" It is possible to trust God with the whole heart if we look to Him for such faith.
The Acceptable Time Is Now
What time is it according to Heaven's perspective? It is "NOW," the moment when the grace of God and the faith of men, by the grace of God, meet. It is time to rise up and seek God, with the intent of truly finding Him to be what He has declared, "...a very present Help in time of need." The all-sufficient Christ is waiting and able to meet today the deepest of man's soul and heart.
In The Last Days
The "Last Days," or "Latter Days," are characterized in Scripture as being those where the signs of judgment begin to manifest themselves in an increasing manner. So is the reality that the grace of God, with the backdrop of darkness, shines increasingly, awaiting the moment when the King in His glory shall appear. What then should the believer be by the abounding grace of God?
Gifts and Opportunities Not Enough
Gifts, capacities, and opportunities are not enough to accomplish the will and purpose of God. Christ must be the very essence and means by which all is accomplished for the glory of God. It is all by the Spirit of Christ, working in and through the believer, that God's work will be revealed, and will endure.
The Makings Of A Nation
How is a nation built? It will have one of two foundations, either that of the thoughts and means of men, or those of God, according to His truth. The question then becomes, "Upon what is the individual of that nation building his life?" Is it upon the eternal character, witness, and power of God in truth, or upon the ideas and principles of sinful man? Only the foundation of Christ will last forever.
The Great Invitation To All Men
Since the fall of man, there has been an unceasing, and undiminished appeal, and call, to the heart of sinful man, to come back to God, and know true life. It is a call that is eternal and powerful as God Himself, never ceasing, until time is no more. Until that moment, there is the grace, mercy, and power of God given to men to respond and to come in faith.
