The Timelessness Of Scripture

The words of God have not time...for they are as eternally true and real as God Himself. Indeed, the words of God are the very expression, and testimony, of His blessed, holy nature, revealed to men on this earth. These words will not pass away, and so are a bedrock for faith in the God of the word.

Thankfulness An Act Of Faith

Thankfulness is an act of faith, for all that is received from God is good, especially and specifically as relating to that "good and perfect will of God." For the believer, walking with the Lord, "All things work together for good..." This is a constant subject for thanksgiving.

Heaven Descending

When Jesus spoke of the kingdom of God, He spoke of that which is heaven being revealed in earth, as it is in heaven. He spoke of that which is of God in heaven, coming down to men, as He did. With respect to the church, that kingdom refers to His indwelling as Lord, and all that the believer's union with Christ means.

By The Rivers Of Babylon

The loss of a battle is not the loss of the campaign. However, there are consequences of a loss, and they can be difficult to overcome. There is in Christ all that is needed to overcome them, to regain one's feet, and stance of faith, to overcome again.

The Outpouring Of The Spirit Of God

The great key to knowing God in truth, is the working of the Spirit of God to reveal Him to our hearts, and then to strengthen us in our hearts to believe Him wholly. The measure of that blessing depends upon a vision of what God will do in answer to faith, and then, believing Him without wavering, to accomplish what He has promised, that He should be glorified.

The God Of Daniel

The God of Daniel is the God of the Christian. Some of the same principles that we discover in Daniel's life, in his relationship with God, are as applicable to the believer today, as they were in the day of Nebuchadnezzar. The unchanging God put the story of Daniel in the Bible for us today, that we might grasp something of what it means to know Him.

The Distinctiveness Of Christ's Words

Christ's words are distinguished from those of natural man in that they give true life, eternal life. Also, they accomplish without fail the works and will of the Father. His words are permeated with His power, authority, and life-giving love.

The Approachableness Of Christ

One of the great enigmas of Christianity is the truth of God's sovereignty and power, and Him being willing to give His Son, to become as nothing, bear the sin of lost man, in order to give him eternal life. This truth reveals to us that Christ is approachable, for he never casts out those who come to Him.

In Wrath Remember Mercy

God in Christ is the perfect standard of that which is right. No concept of men can come close to this "rightness," as it is perfect in essence and application. It is only as it becomes the gift of God to men who turn to God from their unrighteousness, that God's eternal life is known.

Christ's Servant

What is it about Christ as the perfect servant that reveals to us what we are to be, and how we are to live? Certainly we see His lowliness and humility, willing to reach down to the lowliest of men. But there is in Him the revelation of one who came to minister, not to be ministered to. He did this because he was faithful to His father in all things, the Father committing to Him all that was necessary to accomplish His will.
