Bad Decisions Have Lasting Consequences
Lord, Please Don’t Cut Down My Tree
King Solomon, was one of the wisest persons who ever lived. He built the First Temple in Jerusalem. He amassed great wealth, a powerful military, and lived in a magnificent royal palace, reigning over a unified Israel at its peak. But in the Book of Ecclesiastes, he laments about the vanity and emptiness of life. We all have plans, desires and things we want to accomplish in our lives, and today’s teaching with Dr. Tony Hart reminds us that if our plans and goals don’t line up with God’s, they are destined to be cut down.
Man Rules God Reigns
Throughout history there have been men and women who have wielded great influence and possessed wide ranging authority. . The very landscape of our world has been altered by the decisions that have been made in the halls of power. But be it a Pharaoh… or a Caesar… or an Emperor, or a Prince, or a King… or a Congressman… a senator, or a President- man may rule, but God reigns.
Trust In God
Stop for a moment and think of someone in your life whom you trust. Now ask yourself why you trust them. Perhaps because they always keep their word and never break their promises. If they say they’ll be there, they show up. Perhaps you trust them because you know they have your best interests at heart. Time and again you’ve been able to depend upon them. For all these reasons and more, trust me, you can trust God.
Our Victory Requires Change
The Word of God clearly teaches that the believer is at war- not against flesh and blood, but against the unseen powers that control the darkness of this world, and against spiritual agents from the very headquarters of evil. We are further admonished to take off our fleshly wardrobe, and change into the whole armour of God. We need to see things differently and do things differently if victory in battle is to be ours. Victory will require change.
Marriage Is Blessed By The Lord
Everything God ordains, He blesses. And because God has ordained the institution of marriage, there is the opportunity to experience God’s blessing in a very special way. Marriage isn’t for the faint of heart, it takes work and it takes commitment. But because marriage is blessed by the Lord, we can count on His help to see it through the most challenging of times.
True Wisdom Comes From God
As we approach the start of a new year many will be making resolutions and promises they hope to keep in the coming days. Even though it often helps us to look ahead to a better future, in today’s teaching Dr. Tony Hart reminds us that God’s Appointed Time Is Now.
How Does God Celebrate Christmas
Amidst the hustle, bustle and traditions of this holiday season it is a good idea to pause and reflect on the true reason for the season. As we decorate the tree, hang the lights and stuff the stockings let’s also remember that God has His own way of celebrating the birth of His Son.
Hang In There And Keep Your Marriage Vows
The attack on the family (the way God has ordained it) often starts with an attack on the institution of marriage- the way God has ordained it. According to the American Psychological Association, approximately 40-50% of marriages end in divorce. The divorce rate for second marriages is even higher, with approximately 60-67% of second marriages ending in divorce. The challenge today is to Hang In There and Keep Your Marriage Vows.
Be A Fool For God
When you decide to take a stand for God, and go against the grain of mainstream norms, the world might label you a fanatic, an extremist, and maybe even a fool. Today’s passage will encourage you to wear the badge “A Fool For God” with honor.
Loving Relationships Are Important In Our Discipleship
In the year 1624 English author and poet John Donne published a work entitled “No Man Is An Island.” In it he explores the interconnectedness of humanity. In today’s teaching from 1 Corinthians 4, we take a look at that same principle from a Biblical perspective.
