John 18:11-40

John 18:1-11

On the most difficult night of Jesus’ earthly life, the night He spent in prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus laid Himself wide open to His enemies—but with awesome dignity. The soldiers may have thought they took Jesus, but Jesus remained in control of every event.

John 17:2-26

Everyone’s invited. Jesus Christ invites everyone to come to Him for salvation out of their own free will—even though He has the power to make everyone bow to Him. And did you know that today Jesus is talking to the Father about you?

John 16:29-17:1

On His way to the cross, Jesus comforted His disciples with the victorious promise, “In the world you will have tribulation, but take heart, I have overcome the world.” When we let Jesus live His victory in us, then we get a taste of this overcoming, victorious life.

In fact, He was going ahead to get it ready and then told them how to get there. Be encouraged by this hope of “a place He’s preparing for us” and the promise that Jesus will come again to get us.
